ive get a spare hard drive that i wanna use on my compaq presario desktop workstation. how do i install the windows xp that im using on this investigational drive if i dont have any disks? Is within a way to verbs it from the old to contemporary?? PLz, tell me HOW?

First rotten - I'd suggest simply installing the drive as added drive space... you'd have two easier said than done drives and a great deal more size.
That said - I take it that your system didn't hold a means to create rescue disks? Most computer shipped in the concluding 5 years included an application that allows a user to create the recovery medium on CD or DVD... if you do hold that capacity, simply create the disks (CD or DVD), swap complex drives, and run the recovery per the instructions. You'll extension up with a factory non-attendance install.
Another option is a drive upgrade paraphernalia - these include the components you need to verbs data from your ancient drive to your new drive.
Yet another opportunity is running a back up utility close to Norton Ghost. This allows you to back up your current intricate drive, swap in the tentative drive, and then restore your operating system and background to the new drive.

turn stale your computer "MAKE SURE YOUR POWER CABLE IS UNPLUGGED". install your drive give it power. next start up your computer go to control panel> click administrative tools> click computer management> click disk guidance and format that drive with the ntsf record system.
