Should i update my nVidia GeForce 6600 8.1.8.5 driver?

i enjoy a nVidia GeForce NX6600-TD256E graphics card, and i'm using the driver that came beside it (version 8.1.8.5 ), and lately i think it's be causing crashes whilst i'm playing video games. so should i update my driver to one of those (http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=... make happen i hear that the new nVidia drivers wreak more problems than they solve. can anyone help me out here?

Some do but the up-to-the-minute one is pretty good simply go to www.nvidia.com and download the most current forceware driver. If your games are infirm and your card new. could be acceleration issues or most newer games call for pixel shader 2.0 make sure your specs stumble upon the recommended requirements

Generally, you shouldn't update drivers unless they hold new features/bug fixes you have need of. Just cause they enjoy the potential to cause problems. But if you're already have problems, you should. Especially cause yours are slightly old in a minute. If it makes things worse, you can probably reinstall the aged ones, (normally would be in C:\Nvidia\(version #), though conceivably not if it just come on the system).
