there is no necessitate SLI right now as no games or anyhting that I can remember that wishes SLI. sorry your ASUS mobo is defective. I have one and it works basically fine. I owuld just attain a great video card like the nvidia 7950 card or the 8800 if going to use visa.and when the time comes that stuff wants SLI. then you can receive a second one. but right now no requirement for SLI.
I'm sorry you've had impossible experience with Asus, but they are a amazingly very angelic motherboard.
But DFI makes a REALLY nice board, as powerfully as MSI.
SLI is the future my friend.. SLI fit board with two PCIe x16 slots. SLI let two video cards combine to share the workload and it actually works!

Sudden Power bad mystery saga !?
My PC shuts rotten at random times. At first it be when I was ripping MP3s so I thought it might be getting too hot but since I changed the aficionado and cooling system the same piece. I changed the memory ... nothing. The problem have gotten worse the past two days. It even powers down when it boots up, only just before it starts to nouns the OS. Although I might be watching a movie and downloading stuff for 12 hours and it still runs. Its very complicated to reproduce the problem. The past two days is newly keeps doing it at impulsive times. Usually its when I am doing something with or at the second knotty drive that I have. So i've taken that one out to see what's gonna come to pass. Any ideas ?

first u hold to check weather that sound comming frm HDD(hard disk drive) or FDD(floopy disk drive) . jus turn to bios setting and disable the FDD and restart the machine. if its still creating some nouns that means..its time to purchase a foreign hard disk.

On XP you stir:
Start->Control Panel->Sounds and Audio Devices
In the middle of the panel you'll see a Device volume section. There's slider which you can transfer there or click on Advanced and there's a more comprehensive panel to try.

Staticy speakers?
Whenever I play solid songs, or like whenever I catch an IM, the noise will play but within is a lot of static, however when I play a song, some of them will be staticy and some of them wont, It doesnt concern how loud or quiet the system volume is, it doesnt adaptation anything, im stumped, please help

I be not specific before, but when I play music on my PC using my Media Player, or for that business, any type of sound on my PC, I obtain intermittant static coming out of my speakers. I have a up to date sound card plus untried speakers, its NOT the speakers. I can get rid of the static by any clicking the little horn in my bottom tool railing or when using the Media Player, clicking the sound shaft on the Player itself, thats the Scroll bar showing down the song. I hold a Dell Desktop. I just added a 256Mb RAM several days ago. After that, it took in the order of 20 minutes for the computer just to start up. When I turn on my computer, my monitor won't show anything. Both the power lights and the "busy" lights are on, and if I connect the disc drive, its light is on also. What should I do? BTW, I enjoy duplicates of most of the parts.

Alright i just now changed my hard drive on my computer it be a 20gig hd with window 98 i have a 60gig seagate beside windows pro i. i be playing a game on it and the computer froze could not contl alt delete so i held the power button down and it turned rotten. I rebooted it and the promt where it say your computer was impolitely shut down continue or run window in safe and sound mode. any option and it restarts partly way threw the window loading screen suggestions?! if i put the outdated 20gig windows 98 stern it it works fine but i rather/need to have window pro help anyone?

Will I be capable of run the game even for its minimum settings near:

ok so my comp stats are as follows:
Microsoft vista OS
1.25 Ram
40Gig HD(upgrading contained by a couple of weeks)
and 2.0 Ghz proccesor
no viruses and nil really on it it doesnt lag only shows that my CPU usage is at 100 % most of the time which does cause to wad sometimes VIstais NOT the problem cause it other showed 100%usage even before i upgrade

It's more feasible that it's not reading it correctly. Speedfan can't read all the sensors correctly, I hold one that reads as -128C as within below 0C and I know for a fact that's not correct. If adjectives the other readings are in norms (say around 40C to 65C) later you have nought to worry roughly speaking and it's just not reading it right.
Then again, IF it is a correct reading, your PC is something like to fry itself or some part of it is... if it be a critical component, chances are the computer would own shut itself down by now to prevent disrupt. While that is possibly, my vote is on a flawed sensor or faulty sensor reading.

You'll extension up with a factory non-attendance install.
Another option is a drive upgrade paraphernalia - these include the components you need to verbs data from your ancient drive to your new drive.
Yet another opportunity is running a back up utility close to Norton Ghost. This allows you to back up your current intricate drive, swap in the tentative drive, and then restore your operating system and background to the new drive.

Soundblaster card installation problems - brand investigational card - software installed just fine, but when you run it the software cannot find the card. I put the card contained by a different slot. Same problem. Its a top of the line soundblaster card and running xp home. any suggestions? I dont guess the card is bad.

Whenever I'm watching a video or listen to music, the sound volume of it suddenly drops for erratic periods of time (usually give or take a few 10 to 30 secs) and then resumes subsidise to normal (this happen about 4 times within 10 minutes). I've scanned my computer near spybot search and verbs, adaware, and AVG (I don't know if that helps at adjectives...) and nothing seem to work. If any of you know what might be wrong, or how to fix this, please reply!!

Any devices beside a problem will have a sickly symbol beside them. Right click on the device and choose update driver. If this doesn't work choose uninstall and reboot windows it should next find the device as a newly connected device and reinstall it

Sound Card Question.?
I just now (within the past 6-8 months) purchased an Acer computer next to the "media" package installed. This week, on every video, music or "sound" the computer make, it sounds like the computer is on helium. Not so much sped up and unrecognizable, but a short time ago very giant pitched and annoying. Could my sound card be going out already? I've run antivirus and spy sweeper and they both found zilch. Thank you in mortgage for any help.

The software created a temporary folder and is probably stating the location exists. You should be fine. If not, navigate to that location and delete the temp files for the installer.

A few months ago, my computer took a topple off my desk and land upside down, although none of the internals were worn out, for some reason the Audio ports on the front of the casing got messed up, and for the ending month or so, i've been have to wedge a toothpick surrounded by with the speaker cable to form it play sound from my speakers/headphones/any other outputing device that i've tried.
I tried unplugging the audio port cable from my motherboard and freshly plugging it into the onboard ports on the back, but the nouns comes out very giddy and has truly ceased.
My volume is maxed beside everything, nothing is muted, brand strange AC'97 Drivers..i cant figure this one out. i did directive a new grip though, so i think i may own to wait for that one to arrive. but next again anyone who could figure this out, your view would help

Sound Blaster 16 Sound Issue?
I enjoy a Sound Blaster 16 PnP ISA Sound. About 11 days ago, it was working merely fine, no issues or anything. After being away for 11 days, when I use any nouns application, the sound mortal outputted is all giddy, tinted, and I have to turn the volume up to max to hear anything, which have then get static background hubbub.
I have tried the speakers on a different PC, works fine. Is at hand any fix.
I am using XP Pro SP2.
If worst comes, I have a replacement.

3 wires all right one is ground other 2 is 2 positive leads one turns on the low speed (always running) other is the elevated speed fan so when it get hotter then it should that 3rd flex kicks the adherent to a higher speed. so... that anyone said if you do any kind of gaming or video thangs that really push your notebook and make it work you might be looking at over heat and taking your CPU out... So might should put it back lol

Any counsel would be helpful. The system is in the order of 18 months old but its specs still exceed the computers self sold in retail stores currently. It is a P4 3.6 Ghz and I remunerated $2100 for it. Sony wants $280 merely to look at it in their sevice center. I cannot simply replace the PSU because it is special and proprietary to the built-in gooey system. Is it worth my money to repair the computer (for around $450)? Can I strip out the parts and rebuild the system contained by a new valise? I got contained by over my head when I purchased such an unusual system. Any counsel or insight would be great.

You could also try inquiring for a store that sells the Sony soft cooled PS part, and replace it yourself.

The data select at that is stored contained by CD and working. When I try to store further notes in compact disc, message insert new compact disc displayed.
Just I tried to remove the existing files. It is not erased.
Where I have gone wrong. How to overcome this situation to utilise the compact disc further.
Sony RW disc. Stored 50 Mb. Not competent to store further, nor delete the existing files. Used Nero Multisession.?
If there are closely of small files, you might be running into a little particular problem. There is a limit to the number of files contained by a root directory.
Try placing the files in a folder and see if that works.
Or, you might inevitability to format the disk.
btw, I suggest using regular CD's instead. Yes, you use up more, but they are far more reliable than RW.

I can stop the process with charge manager but it instantly reloads.

Sometimes when I try to burn a compact disc or DVD my system crashes and I hold no choice but to restart it.?
Adding medium, usually blank to my HP+- RW DL Lightscribe drive will cause a bluescreen of destruction to appear. It reads something close to "The system shut itself off to preserve from damaging itself." It is a pretty nice system Pentium 4 630, 1 see of ram, and in the order of 1 year old. It begin doing this, the harddrive was reformatted, and it begin doing it again. If you ask i currently have around 40gig free on my 200gb harddrive.

Chances are slim.
If you REALLY need to attain at the files, you can purchase a program like Undelete from Diskeeper, which will find any files that own been delete recently. It will individual reliably find files if there hasn't be any disk activity, so if you've be browsing the internet with the appliance that got restored, later you're pretty well out of luck.

I had this problem myself, here is an option below file types to lay emphasis on compressed files.
To restore the file name to black colors instead of blue ones do this procedure.

I have computers from Dell, Gateway, HP/Compaq and custom made,
The material and overall hunch of the computer from HP/Compaq found to be better but not he speed.

Dell tends to run faster if you configure it right. However,
the bag & components are found to be not as good as HP/Compaq. Also, the power supply plug/socket from Dell is proprietary, if you want to upgrade the power supply from Dell, you will other have to run back to Dell instead of using after flea market parts.

skdaemon.exe is located in any C:\WINDOWS\System32 or C:\WINDOWS. It allows the use of programmable keys on mulimedia keyboards. It isn't a profile windows wishes, but deleting it could transfer the way some of your programs work.
To stop it from running when window starts follow these instructions:
1. Click the start button
2. Click Run
3. Type (without quotes) regedit
4. Open in this order- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE, Software, Microsoft, Windows, CurrentVersion.
5. Click the folder god next to run This is a schedule of programs that start with window, most of which you should recognise from the group of icons at the lower right of your blind.
6. If you don't see Skdaemon right away, scroll to the right of the window and underneath data look for any
C:\WINDOWS\System32\Skdaemon.e...

7. When you find it you can just delete it by right-clicking and select delete.

I don't know if I would dawdle that long, but people at my work enjoy it already installed on their computers (tech center) and there are some glitches within the software. So, I would wait at lowest 2 months.
I've be using it for almost 3 months now & hold yet to see a glitch.
It's as stable as XP Pro.... more protected though. Glitches may be in compatability beside older software ... not near the OS itself.
I decided to find a second hard drive & use a dual boot configuration. This is the safest process to go.

These Processors Have a Direct contact with the Heat sink..I would Suggest that you apply a Single veil every time you try to Move the processor and expose it to the Atmosphere..some of it tends to attain dried or Should i say frozen if it is too cold out side..Check if you own a ZIF processor( No pins on the Bottom)..Since it is AMD sempron..i would suggest Putting one layer of the Thermal Grease Before Placing the Heat sink.
The Thermal Grease act as a Uniform Contact Surface So that Efficient Heat transfer Takes Place. Please Have atleast one Layer of this Thermal Grease Before putting the Heat Sink surrounded by..

Vista is awesome. Install it i have the 32 bit book. Its better than the 64 bit because it lets more XP apps. run on it. Not to mention keeping yuour system32 folder. Vista is a powerful tool, also letting you play the new Halo 2 Vista, if you approaching Halo. Microsoft has done a right job. Most programs that be able to run on XP will be capable of run on Vista because of the new compatibility side (like there be in XP)

Vista is awesome. Install it i have the 32 bit book. Its better than the 64 bit because it lets more XP apps. run on it. Not to mention keeping yuour system32 folder. Vista is a powerful tool, also letting you play the new Halo 2 Vista, if you approaching Halo. Microsoft has done a right job. Most programs that be able to run on XP will be capable of run on Vista because of the new compatibility side (like there be in XP)
When you right to be heard Intel 2.8 I'm not sure which Intel product you mean,is it Xeon,Intel Pentium D or a newer dual core?I will grant you a site that will help you determine if you own enough hit and hardware to run Vista.I would think you necessitate to double your memory and I am not sure what video card you have.

It is currently at 1313MB, would anything bleak or good begin if i changed to 2024 MB?

For optimal performance set your "Initial size" to your physical RAM x3 and your "Maximum size" to that number + 1000.
you'll enjoy more virtural memory , make sure you elevate both the highre and lower limits
If you're frequently running out of virtual memory afterwards it would be a good impression to increase it. please continue to allow your computer to run your VM allocation, if you are low it automatically increases so that you might slow your computer down if you did change it by cap yourself off.
however: Start>control panel> system> advanced> beneath performance click settings> advanced
click metamorphose
click the custom size radio button and put whatever your in general running at under initail later wutever u want under maximum. click ok till you are asked to reset do so and your done.

Your hard drive probably runs within the micro-second range while your RAM runs surrounded by the mili-second range. (much faster by 10X or more) To increase the speed of your PC try installing more RAM memory.
