Hi,
my inferior computer died (actually the motherboard) and I just purchased a company rotten lease computer. My computer had Windows XP Home while the company sour lease computer had Windows XP Pro. The knotty drive was erased from the past its sell-by date lease computer... can I replace the HD on the off lease computer near the HD from my other computer (same GBs) and use Windows XP Home on it?
Replacing Hard Drives also Conversion from Windows XP Pro to Windows XP Home?
Yes, you can install your old HD (assuming it didn't procure fried when your motherboard went). You will probably have to budge through some driver installations (possibly requiring you to download some updated ones - since the hardware in your old-fashioned machine be probably different than the one you just get. Pull the blank drive out while you are doing that. Once you get it running correctly, later switch the jumper on the blank drive to 'slave' and plug it contained by, and use it for data/programs etc.
oh,
ignore the 'you will own to format guy' since he doesn't know what he is talking almost.
you need to format any way you are still going to set off it with micro$oft.
