On a computer that i enjoy that is pretty infirm and never used (im gonna upgrade it) there is some dried-on thermal smooth mixture on the CPU and Heatsink. The CPU is built into the board, so I can't replace it, and I dont wanna try to peel it past its sell-by date, because I dont want to have any entity sensitive (like a diode under the paste) to come stale with it. I would hold Arctic SIlver 5 but...it wont work with the current attach. Any ideas on how to remove it? Thanks!
(BTW if anyone know the speed of processors on an ECS Elitegroup K7SEM V3.0C AmD Duron processor that would help me too)
Removing Themral Paste + other '?'?
Rubbing alcohol and Q-tips near lots of patience
pin polish remover on some q-tips, and then use some cotton ball to wipe it off. if to stuck on, use a flat manager screwdriver to scape some off.
The Arctic Silver recommend using isopropyl alcohol.
