Reformatting Windows XP Professional?

I'm trying to reformat my computer, as soon as I put the disk surrounded by it should prompt me to push any buttom to boot from CD. However, instead it take me to a Caldera DR-DOS screen where on earth it prompts me to input a command where the beggining drive is A:... Basically I merely want to know what needs to be done to format my hardrive so I can win on with installing Windows.

Reformatting Windows XP Professional?

check the bios setting to gross sure that the boot seq is set correct.
i think u enjoy to do it at the boot screen.

start ur computer up and press F12 repeatedly,

afterwards youll see a menu that gives u a choice to boot from Cd-rom or Hd, choose cd-rom and engender sure ur disk is in ur computer. after it shld work from there.
budge to bios may your cdrom as the first priority boot
Sounds to me like your disc isn't a Windows OS disc, but is instead a repossession disc from one of the large corps. making computers. If this is true, afterwards you will still use the disc, but you will likely hold to press some key at boot to start the repossession process. Of course, of this I cannot be sure without if truth be told seeing the disc, but it is my best guess from the info you have provided!
when booting

as the sign of the manufacturer of ur mainboard appears(like intel pentium 4)

hit escape switch

then choose cd rom to boot

or

when booting

AFTER the sign of mainboard appears

hit delete key

next u will come to a place to change the boot sequence

advanced tab>boot sequence section>choose to boot cd rom first
