Recommended specs for burning dvd movies?
As mentioned ( above ) Nero and DVD Decrypter are both good.
Another perfect program is DVD Shrink 3.2, you can download it Free at this site:

There are many ' Good ' and some ' Not So Good ' DVD Ripping ( Copy ) software available, both Commercial and Free. The more you bring to know about this type of software, the more you will want to know. New 'Stuff' is coming out adjectives the time.
good luck.

Nero could be the problem, it is severely memory intensive. I like a program call imgburn it is very simple. Your system is fine, it is not a dream system but it is sufficient for burning. Someone will narrate you to upgrade, if you can afford it sure, upgrade. If you can, leave your system on at hours of darkness doing the trans-coding and burning, you will never notice the speed that road, it will always be done when you get up up.
It is most like the RAM intensive disposition of those Nero products. I use a very simple and vigorous program called DVD Decryptor to write metaphors and have never once have any problems or delays. It typically take my computer 6 minutes to burn any single layer DVD.
